HANNAHVERSARY.

hannah. To my Beautiful Wife,I can't help but start this letter with my favorite words––the same words I start and end every day with: I love you. I love every day how much we say "I love you", and love how it always turns into "I love you more", which we still play religiously two years in. Every day.I love that you tolerate my forgetfulness... if I haven't told you that already. I love that you always encourage my whims (well, most always, but I love you for the ones you don't encourage, too), and how you suffer numerous read-throughs of my books to help me improve them, because you love me. I love that you let me call you "my baby" though we both agree it's kind of a ridiculous moniker. But I can't help it––I love my baby.We have had our ups and downs, but never with each other. We seem to be blessed with ups and more ups, through good times and bad. Even when we're poor, we're rich. Even when we're sad, we're smiling. I know I am the luckiest man alive because I have you, and you should know that you will always have me for one simple reason, I love you more! You have made the last two years truly wonderful, and I look forward to the next hundred together. So Happy Anniversary, my baby! With all of my heart I love you.More,Your Baby photo by Tim Harris

OLD KENTUCKY HOME.

I am back home in old Versailles (KENTUCKY, that is) for Christmas. Yes, I singular, because Jesse and I have to stagger our Christmas trip so that the farm is only unwatched for a couple of days. I come early, Jesse will stay a few days after Christmas. Oh, farming and traveling. It just isn't a possible thing. So today I am missing my husband and my cabin and my woodstove. But I am enjoying  my family and extended internet time (overdosing on pinterest and signing up for healthcare). What are your traveling plans? How do you farmer folk manage the holiday season?- Hannah.stove.

UP AND DOWN.

feather. This past week or so has had its ups and downs. We had three straight days of freezing rain - meaning that two rather active people with innumerable outdoor projects were stuck inside with nothing to do. So, naturally, we went insane and built a giant wall through the middle of our house. I don't have a good photo - but you can see it on Instagram. I kind of love it.Finally , when the rain stopped, we got snow - which was lovely! We sadly don't get much around these parts anymore. We enjoyed walking through the woods with Wendell, finding animal tracks in the early morning snow.snow. snow. snow. snow.house.And then I got sick - which has been NO FUN indeed. But at least I got to snuggle up with this jerk for a few days.charlie.Here's to always looking for the bright side!- Hannah.
