KENTUCKY GREEN LIVING FAIR.

Last weekend we went up to Somerset for the 2014 Kentucky Green Living Fair. It was really wonderful - we met so many amazing folks doing amazing things in our state. We hung out with all our favorite Bowling Green ladies, Jesse taught a workshop on fermentation, I ate Woodford Reserve bourbon bread pudding ice cream, and (more importantly) we took hot showers at our hotel. Success!We really love this event, and especially the superhero woman who basically runs the show all on her own - Jamie, you're the best.Thanks to everyone who came by and said hello - we love meeting you guys and hearing your stories.- Hannah. Sitting in a lovely place, sipping fancy coffee and waiting until this afternoon when I am heading to Joelton to pick up three milk goats. I had plans of putting up lots of posts and getting a lot of blog work done, but of course the computer is not cooperating. So this is a short little post to say: expect an overload of goat photos very soon.Also, do you follow us on Instagram? BOXING DAY DATE.

Before I drove home today, Jesse and I had a little day-after-Christmas date using up some of our Christmas gifts. My parents gave me a gift card for yarn, so we stopped by Magpie Yarn in Lexington. Let me just say - as a somewhat beginning knitter, I am often intimidated by yarn stores, sometimes dealing with rude and somewhat snooty ladies who are not super helpful. Anybody else? Anyway, this was by far the NICEST yarn store I have ever been to. Plus, they only carry natural fibers. I bought a LOT of yarn, y'all. We then used a gift from my Dad - a gift card to the always wonderful Alfalfas. It was so nice to be able to spend a little time just the two of us before heading home. Thanks Mom and Dad for the thoughtful presents!- Hannah.

OLD KENTUCKY HOME.

I am back home in old Versailles (KENTUCKY, that is) for Christmas. Yes, I singular, because Jesse and I have to stagger our Christmas trip so that the farm is only unwatched for a couple of days. I come early, Jesse will stay a few days after Christmas. Oh, farming and traveling. It just isn't a possible thing.So today I am missing my husband and my cabin and my woodstove. But I am enjoying my family and extended internet time (overdosing on pinterest and signing up for healthcare). What are your traveling plans?
