A WALK WITH WENDELL.
We took our new camera and our giant puppy on a walk to check on the mushroom logs. Remember those? Well, we are just now enjoying the first fruits of last years labor, and we are about to inoculate another 20 logs next week. Hooray for Shiitakes!

WE'RE BACK.
WHEW. We have been very absent from the blog for a bit....mostly because it is suddenly very much spring time and the days are long and we are running like mad to catch up. We have been planting and starting seeds: peas, onions, carrots, beets, lettuce, chard, parsley, tomatoes. We have been moving the pigs through the garden, using them to till up the soil. We have been cleaning up the bee yard and getting new hives painted and ready. Spreading compost and mulch. Hunting endlessly for where the chickens have been laying there eggs (under the sassafras pile). Soaking mushroom logs. Its busy, y'all. But we're back. We are going to try and be better about scheduling posts here throughout the week and updating our Instagram. And we are buying a new camera today, because our old one bit the dust (a.k.a. literally got too much dirt in the lens to function).Stay strong, farmers. It's going to be a good season.- Hannah.
