Some random photos from the past week.Our bees swarmed! Unfortunately, this photo was taken with an intense zoom lens and they were at the very top of a very tall tree. We decided to leave them alone.This is what happens in the spring after a big rain - the mint and the weeds quickly threaten to take over and we suddenly have chaos in the backyard. The hens are not laying in the coop - so we have Easter egg hunts every day!The kittens are living in the outhouse per usual. Potato patch, looking good!

Some random photos from the past week.These little guys are the newest members of the farmstead. Anybody need a kitten? Further loves his new bouncy swing, but he is not so amused by "Organic Mushroom Farming and Mycoremediation." Gathering water from the spring. Yep, we still don't have running water.Ginger sprouting!Little feets and hand knit blankets.

Some random photos from the past week.My absolute favorite flower we grow....Tithonia or Mexican sunflower. One of our four remaining chickens. A tiny chanterelle found while gathering spring water. Sweet potatoes are looking good! We can't wait.Trying to teach this one not to poop in harvest baskets.Overrun with hot peppers these days.

Some random photos from the past week.Sorting through our remaining garlic. We still have thousands of bulbs!Scooter basically lives in this woodpile under our porch.This new girl joined the family this week. We picked her up from Little Seed, and of course her name was already Charlie (our cat). We are thinking Margot. flower. Wildflowers in the woods. Anybody know the name?
