THE GIFT OF SPINNING.

. . . . .On my recent trip to Chicago, not only did I get to spend lots of time with my extended family - but I also got to bring home a very special gift: my sweet aunt's spinning wheel! She was a weaver in college, and this spinning wheel has been in her family for ages - we have no idea how old it is. It is honestly the most wonderful present. I have lovely dreams of the day we have our own sheep - shearing them, dying the wool, spinning it into yarn, knitting our own clothes. I am so excited to learn how to spin, but I have NO idea where to start. I do know that the wheel is missing a few parts, so I am planning on contacting a local spinning guild here in Nashville for some help.Any spinners out there with tips or advice?- Hannah.

A TRIP IN PHOTOS: CHICAGO.

I was lucky enough to be able to hitch a ride with my parents up to Chicago this week. We went up to see my brother play basketball on his Senior Night at his school.  It was also a chance to accomplish a lot of knitting, catch up with my Wheaton family who I love and have missed so dearly, meet a new little baby girl, and re-fall in love with Chicago. Chicago is such a wonderful city, and a part of me will always feel a tiny pull to live in a bustling downtown.I arrived back to Nashville this morning with a PILE of work waiting for me (new stock in the store later this week!) - so I am so grateful to have had this small break to relax and leave some stress behind for a bit.- Hannah.. . . . ... . .

BACK TO REALITY.

We're back!  Jesse, my family and I had a wonderful, perfect trip to Chicago.  There was much basketball, babies, and butter churns, as well as plenty of Intelligentsia, 30 Rock, and relaxing.  Jesse and I had a somewhat stressful time this past week...so this weekend was much needed. That being said, we are happy to be home and ready to jump back into reality.  And as for the stress, I am adopting a new motto I saw on a poster in the city yesterday: Everything is going to be alright.  Maybe not today, but eventually.  And this we know.  We have our families, we have the support from so many of you, and everything will be alright.- Hannah.
