ANNOUNCING...THE CSA!

Now that we have secured a place to grow vegetables this year, we are excited to finally announce our very first, our very only, our very fun CSA 2012! If you are not familiar with the term CSA, it stands for Community Supported Agriculture, but more specifically...it's a subscription to your food. Much like a magazine subscription, you pay in full up front and receive a delivery of vegetables every week for 15 weeks. We will provide you with your own basket and throughout the growing season you will bring your basket every week to a previously determined location and pick up your week's worth of vegetables. The vegetables within the basket vary as the season changes. Here is a sampling of what FRUITS AND VEGETABLES we will be growing this year:

  • Tomatoes (lots of heirloom and classic reds)
  • Melons
  • Peas
  • Beans
  • Lettuce
  • Squash
  • Eggplant
  • Carrots
  • Spinach
  • Peppers (hot and sweet)
  • Beets
  • Basil, Cilantro, Sage, Rosemary, and other herbs
  • ...and so much more!

The PRICING is as follows:

  • $300 for the SMALL SHARE ($20 a week): a peck basket's worth of food. Best for single individual or small family.
  • $450 for the MEDIUM SHARE ($30 a week): a half bushel's worth of food. Best for a family or individuals who eat mostly or only vegetables and cook often.

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions about which basket would be best for you!Email or call us if you are interested in a share. Payment's can be accepted in cash, check, or via our Paypal account.Starting in June, the deliveries will take place every Saturday in Versailles, Ky and every Tuesday or Wednesday in Danville, Ky (more specific times and exact locations to be determined later)*. They will carry on for 15 weeks through the regular season. (A separate 5-10 week fall share will be offered immediately following.) Space is limited! Please reserve your spot as soon as possible. We really want to make this a fully engaging and interactive exchange, offering recipes and farm updates with every basket. Hopefully we will be able to offer the occasional cooking, wine, or beekeeping class as well. We know that for some people, a big basket full of vegetables every week is a new and overwhelming concept, and we hope to make it fun and educational and healthy for your family. Rest assured, there will be NO use of any sort of chemicals or inorganic fertilizers in the garden and you can always ask us about our growing practices––we want you to be confident in where your food is coming from! By purchasing a share, you are not only securing the best, most local, freshest vegetables possible, but you are simultaneously supporting a small family, a small business, and a small farm. We are excited to get this season rolling and hope you are, too! Remember, the amount of shares we can offer is limited so SIGN UP SOON! If you have any questions or confusion, about vegetables or sizes or delivery locations, please let us know.  Thank you!*I know several of you live in the Mount Sterling/Owingsville area and were interested in being a part of our farm this year.  I am so sorry that (at least for now) we won't be living in that area, but please still sign up if you'd like! Our delivery locations are flexible, and we want to get good food to you and your family if you want it! So let us know, and we will work together to try and find a pick-up location and time that works best for us all.
